Using Tallymeal means agreeing to what’s on this page. If you don’t, don’t use it — and if you already have an account, you can delete it from Settings.

This matters more than anything else here, so it comes first.

• Tallymeal is a diary for tracking what you eat. It is not a medical device, and nothing in it is a diagnosis, a treatment or advice from a clinician.
• Your starting calorie and protein numbers come from a published equation applied to the age, sex, height and weight you entered. They are a general estimate for a general population, not a measurement of you.
• The adaptive target adjusts from your own logged weight over time. It is a better estimate. It is still an estimate.
• Photo and text scans produce approximations of what a meal contained. They are often close and sometimes wrong.

Talk to a doctor or a dietitian before making significant changes to how you eat, especially if you are pregnant, managing a health condition, or have any history of disordered eating. If food or weight is causing you distress, please reach out to someone — a clinician, or a support line where you are.

You need to be at least 13. If you are under 18, please get a parent or guardian’s permission first.

Logging in is an emailed link or your Google account — there is no password. Keep access to your email secure, because anyone who has it can reach your diary. Tell us at support@tallymeal.com if you think someone else has got in.

One account per person. Don’t share one, and don’t use someone else’s.

• Plus costs $59.99 per year, or $9.99 per month.
• Billing is handled by Stripe and renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
• To cancel, use the Stripe billing portal linked from your receipt email. There isn’t a cancel button inside the app yet — we’d rather say so than imply there is.
• Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your Plus features stay until the end of the period you already paid for, and we don’t pro-rate part of a period.
• If you let Plus lapse, you keep your account. The diary, the full history and the CSV export are not behind the paywall and never will be.
• Prices can change, but never for a period you have already paid for.

You own what you log. We store it and process it only to run Tallymeal for you — to show you totals, work out your targets and hand it back as CSV when you ask. We don’t claim any ownership of it and we don’t use it to build anything else.

Don’t use Tallymeal to break the law, and don’t:

• Try to reach another person’s account or data.
• Scrape it, resell it, or run it as part of another product.
• Attack, overload or probe the service.
• Upload anything illegal, or anything that isn’t yours to upload.

We can suspend or close an account that does these things, and we’ll tell you why if we do.

We aim to keep Tallymeal up and working, but we don’t promise it will never be down, and features can change or be withdrawn. If we ever shut the service down, we will give you reasonable notice and time to export your diary first.

Tallymeal is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. We don’t warrant that the calorie figures, the food database, the photo scans or the adaptive targets are accurate or suitable for any particular purpose.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Tallymeal is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any health outcome arising from decisions you make using the app. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

You can delete your account from Settings at any time. Be aware that deletion stops all processing immediately but your records are retained for 10 years before permanent erasure — the privacy policy explains exactly what happens and when.

We may close an account that breaks these terms, or if we stop running the service altogether.

If these terms change in a way that affects you, we’ll email you before the change takes effect. Carrying on using Tallymeal afterwards means the new terms apply.

We haven’t yet named the law that governs these terms or where disputes would be heard. That will be filled in here, and we will tell you when it is.
